why puttin down a sub???

spl = no brand preference. You have to be willing to try anything and everything.
That being said... the SX doesn't live up to its name as a daily driving woofer. It flat out does not take 1000 watts "RMS" before getting stinky... it also doesn't get as loud as it should in a low tuned box.

Fart boxes, the SX is fine... for SPL it works ok.... but for whatever reason it just doesn't handle much power in a low tuned box.
My 18SX flat out took 2 strapped CX1200's daily and flat out took 4 of them on burps.

This is in both 6 ft^3 tuned to 30, 9 ft^3 tuned to 33, and 11 ft^3 tuned to 33. Never smelled a **** thing.

Something I find funny is how dB Draggers come to opposite conclusions then you have. Mike Steirs had 2 strapped Goliaths on a pair of 12" SX's with no problems...you should ask Team Livewire what they think about the SX's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

On another note, I can go on Termpro and probably find 15-20 guys running SX's dail with more then 1kw nominal and having no problems whatsoever.

perhaps they dont actually use the power?

every setup I've seen/done with the SX's... in any box... you go over aprox 1000-1400 actual watts and they don't handle it without getting stinky. Recently did one 15 powered off a bx1605 @ 1 ohm... no stinky with 1600 watts! No, no stinky with 700 watts, that amp sucks.

How you get different results I have no idea.

Btw, high freq burps and low freq daily driving are 2 different things //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

what about the re se12's....if u put have 2 se12'a and a orion 1200d.....do u think it can pull atleast 145db's in the rite box
80

just curious 2 know

may hit that depending upon vehicle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well my personal experience tends to override what anyone will tell me...and I'm sure that's the same for plenty people out there. Like I said, I drove around with it in a few different boxes, daily driving, with no problems. I also burped it with my 4 cx1200's at .7 strapped a pair, with no problems.

But are you meaning to tell me that some of the loudest people in the world (Team Livewire members) are 'not actually using he power'?

c'mon now.

I dont have any personal experiences with them but I just know what David and Marty told me and pretty much stated the same thing as spkrman //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Are they using 12"sx's I noticed most of those people you listed on the last page are using MT's, 18", 32" and 15"s. the bigger subs should take more power than the 12"s

I just said, Mike Steirs, 2 12" SX's. He's been using 12"s for the last few seasons IIRC.
Mike Steirs is one of the loudest neon spl vehicles in the US except for David Dasilva I think itll be close but David is using 10"SX's. David mentioned getting his reconed a couple of times, had Mike ever get a recone????

All of those arnt MT's Im pretty sure Shawn Fleming is using a 32" RE Sub, thats what is stated on termpro;)

RE has a 32" subwoofer? Since when? XMX? Nobody is using an XMX in competition that I know of. But, Im no expert either. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
