Why is my system weaker after upgrading?

I upgraded from my 4 gauge to 0 gauge (both power and ground)

Upgraded the amp from a md2d (1500 watts) to a sundown saz 2000d

Upgraded my speaker from a fib l to a fi sp4

Added a farad, Rockford Fosgate Rfc10hb 10 Farad Hybrid Digital Capacitor

The only thing I kept the same was the battery and the box, but for some reason its just sounds weaker (the sub is brand new and not even close to being broken in yet)

Before I could shake my front mirror on 4 with not everything turn up, not I got to put it at 8 and have everything turn ed to do the same.

The only thing I can think of is it was wired wrong and not producing 1 ohm, its producing 8 ohms, (it’s a dual 2 ohm sub), or the box isn’t big enough (but it should still be hitting a lot harder then what it is right now), anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

yeah sorry 4 ohms, I was thinking of something else when writing this, I know the box is to small for ported, so I was thinking about sealing it, it should give me 5.5 cu ft, when sealed. Fi specs says for a sealed box it should be 4-6 cu, so I should be good there and should I just get rid of the farad, all together? I would upgrade my alternator and battery but im not going to keep the truckl for that much longer so I dont want to invest into something that I will juyst lose.

You just changed a lot of variables and don't have the proper box for that woofer. Really no wonder.
^^^What hispl said.

Also, the SP4 has a 4" coil, lower Bl, and is more oriented towards SQ, all of which would make it less "loud" than the ones u replaced

ok itll take the farad out and make sure the wiring is good, but the box is what I have a question about, couldnt I just seal the box up and make it 5.5 cu and work right?

Sounds like you could have a slew of issues.

1. Enclosure need to be looked into and altered or rebuilt accordingly

2. Check your wiring and wire that subwoofer to 1 ohm

3. Check you power/ground connections to ensure they are all properly secure and you have a good ground.

4. Check all of your settings head unit and amplifier settings.

5. Those caps are not helping or hurting to much really for what you are using them for. You can try removing them to see how that alters your results.

What size SP4 do you have? I would just build a new enclosure if you are that far off on the requirements. Why do things two or three times over. Just do it right from the start.
