which $300 sub for 300watt amp?

How about the Focal 27V2 11"? It's 300 watts rms and sounds great. It's also a relatively expensive sub, but it can be found on ebay for around $150.

We'd be more helpful if we knew which amp you're planning to use...

sorry, didn't buy it until 5 minutes ago,

Sundown Audio SAX-100.4, rear channels bridged

I'm gonna ask my box builder to go as large as possible and use the entire trunk if need be, probably ported too unless he recommends otherwise

leaning towards 15"

I've been told Digital Designs really slam but are more geared to spl

even the 9500's can be used in a SQ setup. it all depends on the install

So, you have 300 watts @ 4 Ohms?

Your options aren't really limited, man. There are dozens of quality subs that'll give you decent results. I'd look into the Focal subs if I were you. They're designed with sound quality in mind, and they'll yield great results. Just demo different subs until you hear something you really like.

I wouldn't be dead set on a 15" sub if I were in your position, but that's just me...

ok, I just ordered my third amp, and still no subs lol..MB Quart DSC 4125

I'm gonna try all three, plus try a small sealed and a large ported box

first I got a deal on the lightning audio amp but then people said go with something of better quality hence the sundown, the MB was purchased used very cheap

I want to get a feel for the different types of equipment, brands, etc... at the entry level before progressing further

everything is relative

I did it the same way with my home audio setup and learned much quicker I think

to give you an example, within about 3 years of tinkering with home subs, id stuff, brand names, custom stuff, and DIY, I ended up with probably the single best non diy, non commercial subwoofer on the planet, the likes of which most sub fanatics even here don't own

which is it? well since I'm not a walking billboard you can google "Seaton Sound" if you want

my home speakers are from Salk sound, again, a company with such an exceptional price/performance ratio that you would never realize it without learning from the ground up

my funds are limited, but if they were unlimited, i would still by choice work my way up the food chain a little before purchasing the best of the best
