what sub is comparable to old school kicker solobaricsM

I ran 2-12' back in the day run off of a ppi art series amp and they sounded really good...especially for rock music. I've been out of the scene for a while so what would sound like thoes? I don't have the enclosure or amp picked out yet but i would like to stick with 2-12's.

I never heard the old solobarics, but Image Dynamics makes some nice sounding subwoofers. The ID, IDQ, and IDmax subwoofers are all very nice.

MB quart makes some good SQ subs the memphis M class are some of the best SQs ive heard

personally if your looking for loud sq i would go with an FI Q... take a lot of power are extremely durable.. and in my opinion sound really good for the money..

Cool thanks for the replies guys. I will definetly check out thoes subs....i was running American Bass xfl 12's and they pound nicely but are not close to being as accurate as the old solos I had so i just want to do it right this time. Should i stick with a sealed enclosure? Also I can get new Alpine Type X at cost. Are thoes descent choice if i can get them for a good price?

sealed enclosures go hand in hand with sq so yes, and only get the type x if you can get a hell on a deal on it, other wise I would go with an ID or even try one of those new mb quarts.

Kicker's CVX is the descendant of the original solobaric.

this is the decendent of the solo and its the only kicker i like that sounds good in a sealed box.

They built the original old school Kicker solobarics and AFAIK they still build something very similar if not identical.

Update: I have decided to keep my broken American Bass VFL-120.1 amp. I realized that I live 30min away from the amp repair center and I can drop it off to them...lol. Anyway I think that amp will provide plenty of power for what I am trying to accomplish, and hopefully have good enough sound quality. I am waiting for my cost on 2 Alpine Type X 12's. If they are cheap I will run thoes, if not I'm going to buy one of the subs reccomended so far.
