I am upgrading my whole audio set up (the shop screwed me on alot) so I was wondering should I do my stage 3 wiring first or high output alternator. Here's the stage 3 wiring kit in thinking of. I realize 0/2 might be over kill but I'm going to be getting either a 5k or 8k amp when upgrade is finished.

I'd buy the alt 1st, grab wire next. Run as is for a bit then park the car. Cut to length and deal with terminals correctly. It's going to 5k-8K? DIY it and buy welding wire I say. Dual 4/0 welding may be a bit inflexible but that copper once crimped correctly won't fail. I like to run things underneath and stealth myself. A hole in the trunk or floorboard is preferable to stuffing huge wire under carpet and running it different should relieve the bends a little. Install 2/0-4/0 welding wire once and you'll see... lmao.

I'd personally run dual welding wire 4/0 runs for the main run, dual 2/0 welding wire on the alt /w/ dual lug and match or exceed the mains at the amp and grounds front and rear.

400a alt on 5-8K correct? Dual U-12s on big power?

Don't forget a Battery. Check out Glowe Voltage. You'll need a good power supply for that amount of power. My voltage would sag quite a bit with my 320 amp alt and a single AGM battery on a 2500 watt amp.

400 amps sounds like a lot but an amp putting out 8k watts at one ohm is gonna pull well iver that 400 amps, especially if you are running 1 ohm or lower. A lot of amps are horribly inefficient at sub 2 ohm loads.

For instance my JP8 takes around 100 amps to make around 1100 - 1200 watts at 2 ohms but takes 160 amps to make 1300-1400 watts. Not worth the trade off. I'd look up amp dynos before you make your choice and pick the most efficient one.

That's a great choice. They also have chargers they don't price gouge you for either. I think you can pick theirs up for like $30 vs around $100 for the XSPower charger

Please don't spend $700 on a "big 3 kit".

Get a spool of 1/0 OFC from Knukonceptz(My choice).
20 pack of 1/0 lugs.
Hydraulic crimper.
2 Fuse blocks with fuses.

$400 left over for hookers and coke.

Whoahhh STAGE 3! I own that wire... It's 2/0 welding cable. Which is the same size as 1/0 car audio wire.

The 1/0 OFC is $500 for all the wiring is need then not including lugs and everything else it's about the same price.

My crimper and bag of 0 Gauge copper lugs have saved my *** more than one time. You can buy a crimper and giant pair of wire cutters off Amazon for like $30. Def recommend

That's part of what I'm getting ill look at the link you got bc the crimpers I was looking at is $70
