You're an idiot...The cheapest easiest way to get fast is to get a fox body mustang. It's a good starting platform and the parts are cheap as shit.

If you want to spend some good money, go for the 03-04 Cobra. It should do high 12's stock with a good driver and can go a lot faster with simple bolt-ons.

they aren't made to mod, I'll give ya that. I can scarcely find after-market parts for them. But mine stock is sweet.

You can make any car fast with enough money. I just would rather spend my money elsewhere than a fox body.

addendum :

There is a couple of those AWD talon's that shows up at the track once every couple of weeks with twin turbo's, all tricked out, nitrous, etc....they can maybe get one pass down the track and their next pass they'll blow something up. Its quite amusing to watch at least. Trying to put too much shit on a ricer to make it go fast will do that.

9sec streetable car and 9sec daily driver are 2 diff things. I highly doubt you have the pockets to build/support a 9sec daily driver. At those levels you will break shit and also wear stuff out driving it daily.

I've built 2 low 9sec street cars, but they were only driven 2-3 times per week as maintenance gets expensive and tiresome...

If i was trying to drag I wouldn't be using an Eclipse. The eclipse is a semi-luxury yet sporty car that's pretty and nice to take out to places like the beach or club. It's not a cement pounding iron horse because it's not meant to be lol. A good dragster usually makes a very shitty street car. And at 14 sec. stock it's not slow by any means. And top end is decent, i've had mine at 140. and then i backed off.
