For guys without access to or room for a table saw, this is a super cheap alternative to saw track kit. The metal angle cost ~$10 vs ~$80 for a saw track kit. You can get a decent circular saw for ~$50-$100.

I have a table saw but for full sheets I just clamp down my 8" level as a guide and use my circular saw.. I get better cuts than trying to man handle a full sheet anyhow.

For small Pieces like a Corner brace with 45's I'll use the table saw though.

If I had an 8' level, I'd use that instead. An 8' saw track would be pricey, the 4 footers are already ~$100. I've got this 8' track and another 4' one for the cost of couple lunches.
