once you stop taking creatine you do lose water weight but your muscles are bigger once you get off of it just when you are on it you will be bigger you stay bigger because the water that creatine brings to your muscles enhances protein synthesis which is the process that makes your muscles bigger its just your body doesnt keep all of the water that creatine brings to your muscles, but you wont ever lose it if you dont stop taking it, but you will because everyone has workout phases and then stops and starts back up again at a more convenient time and the thing about it is that its legal in all sports, its not a drug its supplement, it is in chicken in high concentrations i believe

There are no side effects... only if you don't drink enough water you'll get some cramps that are easily stretched out. Don't worry. Creatine is completely harmless.

If you get pure creatine monohydrate, its pretty cheap, and last a long time.

 
cool. i was thinking there might be some kind of dependence or something like that. also had the notion that was mentioned that if you stop using it then muscles would not grow as well.

so it is good to take it for an extended period of time? i'm looking at using my gym membership to the fullest, which expires in oct. '07(but will likely renew) so it would be ok to take it(creatine) the entire time? and just be sure i stay hydrated? for those you who have taken it, how long have you been using it? also where's a good place to get it from? i'm sure a gnc would have it, but where wold be the cheapest? or do the prices not vary too much?

You can get it even cheaper at mass nutrition but I have had multiple problems with them so I no longer go there. Bodybuilding I have never had an issue with and ive spent over a grand there.

and there are different methods of cycling creatine, some people do 6 weeks on 2 weeks off, some people do 2 months on 1 month off, I prefer the 2/1 month method.

 
sounds good. so what's the cylce daily wise? as in when/how much should i take? this in addition to protien/water is what i need to gain mass/muscle correct?
take 3g pre WO and 3g post WO of regular creatine

or whatever the serving size is for one of those proprietary blends, depending on what u get

 
dont go for high expensive stuff its all the same grade of creatine, walmart or gnc or even academy has i dont know if academy is every\where but its like a sports place

and you dont only do two big doses a day, like before and after workout you do do that but you take smaller amounts throughout the day and i would jsut mix it with water which is the best thing you can mix it with but there is a grainy feeling to it and it mixes a little better with gatorade i took it in the morning at breakfast, at lunch, before i work out, after i work out, and the later in the evening, and this keeps your body hydrated with creatine all the time b ecause you wont use 3g of it when you work out you whiz out excess so its not good to take large amounts cause you wont keep all of it

its not all the same.....

creatine mono is different from creatine ethyl ester which is different from magnesium creatine chelate which is different from creatine ester orotate which is different from dicreatine malate which is different from creatine alpha-keto-glutarate which is different from.....

you get the idea, there are ALL different kinds of creatine, however there are very few studies done on the majority of them so people dont know if they are that much better than monohydrate or not. Monohydrate is by far the most heavily studied form of creatine. However, if you regular the site BodyBuilding.com, you will find many people SWEAR by the more expensive kinds, and there are a ton of people on that site daily and they know what they are talking about.

and it doesnt matter when you do it because your body can only handle 10 g a day max, any more you just poop out. you just need to take it daily, most people do it before and after they workout because that is when it is used the most. You could take 10 grams at one time it wouldnt matter, its not excess and its not bad for you.

and please never recommend GNC or Walmart for supplements ever again. If you can get 1100 grams of pure creatine monohydrate for 20$ at GNC you just let me know and ill buy some.

 
so a good 10g's a day shold be good? no matter how/when i take it; or that's max? so i oculd take less than that and it would be fine? will most likely get it from the site bk posted though but i'll check out the stores mentioned. but i mean if they're that much more expensive then why not just get it delivered to my door

 
Hmm well considering I gained 30 lbs of muscle mass first semester(same bodyfat %), I max 300lbs bench weighing in at 150, military press 150. I gained around 75lbs on my bench from the beginning of the semester to the end, and 50lbs to my military press. I'd recommend MAN Clout. It is the absolutely worst tasting supplement in the world, but it has a great efficient blend of creatine/beta alanine/other stuff.

Leo go with MAN Clout and just follow the respective dosage, if you are looking for the best result out of a creatine supplement. You do not lose your strength after you stop creatine, complete bullshit, all mental.

Might try stacking xfactor and activate too, testosterone boosting supplements. Yeah, not supposed to take them since I am only 17, but I've experienced zero negative effects.

Yeah since people will claim I am bullshitting, here is the pic, beginning of 1st semester, and end of 1st semester. My profile name is the same at bodybuilding.com , same pics on there.

By the way, grow some balls and head to the gym and get a partner to spot you so they can push you beyond muscular failure. Muscular failure by yourself is not the most effective way to shock your muscles into growth.
