i went to home depot today and got all the stuff. i shot it only twice tonight b.c my dad was getting mad but yea this thing is badass no joke. barrel is like 3'6" long and the whole thing is about 5'8" tall. it wasnt too hard to make but its a killer how u have to buy full 10' pieces of pipe at HD. it came to about $44 after tax and i still have a shit load of pipe left over to make another two or just one with a really long barrel i dont know yet. anyways here are the pics

a question for people who have used some before:

what is a good fuel besides hairspray? i heard red guard was good but they dont make them flammable anymore any other ideas? Hairspray is messy and sticky when it drys

me and my buddies built pressure powered potato guns with big ol air chambers on em.they are a lot bigger tho. Pretty much two potato guns strapped side by side, one the barrel and one the chamber, and a pressure release valve on the end. It was pretty wicked tho. Could shoot a golf ball about 500 yards

spray some starter fluid in that bad boy... I would wrap the combustion changer is a bunch of duct tape before using it though...

I in no way am responsible if you hurt yourself. lol... Starter fluid will launch a potato like none other though.

buy a couple bottles of MAPP gas... works GREAT... just make sure to air out the chamber after each shot so there plenty of o2 to mix with the gas...

edit: i personally would have made the combustion chamber bigger. we've always used 5in pipe but that should still work fine... and i'd wrap it with some layers of duct tape just in case... i've heard of them blowing up before, but i've never seen it happen, and i've shot them thousands of times...

That would hurt. Alot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Thats ABS plastic or black painted PVC?

If it's ABS, good choice. I don't think duct tape is entirely necessary, ABS pipe is used in firework mortar launch tubes because it fails in a less dangerous manner than PVC under pressure. PVC blows up sending shards everywhere, think shrapnel.

But still be very careful! Hairspray works pretty well, but remember when you're doing it that the quantity makes all the difference. You need that perfect mixture of fuel/air.
