Voltage on Headunit

I was wondering what effect on a system the voltage from the head unit causes. My head unit is an entry level eclipse and its only 2.7 volts.

The gain setting on your amp is the only thing it will affect. No sonic differences; assuming you set your gain correctly. Lower preout voltage just means you have to set the gain on your amp higher (which could possibly cause noise...some amps are noisy with a high gain setting). Higher preout voltage just allows you to set the gain lower.
