The gain setting on your amp is the only thing it will affect. No sonic differences; assuming you set your gain correctly. Lower preout voltage just means you have to set the gain on your amp higher (which could possibly cause noise...some amps are noisy with a high gain setting). Higher preout voltage just allows you to set the gain lower.
