voltage and amperage testing

Amperage requires a special tool with your DMM and it has to have the ability to test for that. It is a clamp that goes around the wire.

Voltage - You want to set it for DC (line with a dashed line, not the ~ ) and set to 20 or 200 depending on what decimal place you want to read up to

 
Watts can be estimated using a DMM. This is done in AC ( ~ ) at the amplifer'sspeaker output. You take the voltage reading squared, divided by impedance (x^2 / Y Ohm) That would get you a rough peak estimate. An Oscope is a better way to test though as you can see if the signal is clipped
