Type R or Type X?

Try doing a search. There is an ungodly amount of info about the 2 subs.

Type X's are designed for sealed box sq applications; they are a lot less effecient then the r.

R's are louder, but not as accurate. Most people use em in ported boxes, but I don't wanna start an argument about that.

if your new to this then i'll suggest the Rs. It will impress your friends! You can get a least two for the price of an x and you won't need as much power to get them going

I don't care for the Type-x's list said earlier they are SQ subs but for very limited applications, VERY good LOW end extension... but touchy and lack of versatility...

Type-r on the other hand are versatile and have tons of output potential and are far less expensive... Way worse SQ than the Type-x though

type x is def worth it esp if you get 2 of emtwo 12 x's would be louder than two 15 r's, if powered correctly

No. Not at all. As many reviews have shown, the X, while sounds amazing, has low output (in terms of audibility), while the Type AAARRRGHHH is known around these forums as the ultimate budget SPL driver.

Are alpine type x's, better in basically every way except price then the Type r's?What are some pros and cons?
The Alpine Type X can be viewed as the SQ version of the Type AAARGGH. The X is comparable to the IDMax, Fi Q, etc.

Generally speaking, from what time I have with the subs.

Sealed - Type X loves it ten times more than an R. And R loves ported ten times more.

Ported - Type R steps up a lot and has a great bit of output at near no cost. X still gets fairly loud, but the R outdoes it from my experience. Once again, tons cheaper as well.

SQ - Type X. That doesnt need to be explained, it is just tons more accurate than the R.

Most simplistic breakdown.

It's well known that a R with the same power will deff get a LOT louder. I heard both and the X does sound nice but ain't loud at all + need a lot more power to get moving.

But since you're an expert.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
