hey guys i just got my alpine type-R and i must say i'm very unhappy before i had 2 Jl audio 10w-0's and they played better, thoes were in a bandpass box tho And i now miss them but now i have a box ready to be put together for one 12 and 2 10's what would u recommend for the 2 10's that will help my whole system slamm with the alpine type R ? I want people to hear me.. and yes the subs are goign in a Jeep cherokee...

Dont put two 10's and a single 12 in there....and if you're only doing it so other people can hear you....you're doing it for the wrong reasons

honestly, i've always thought the type R sounded like shit. i've heard a few that i wasn't impressed with, and then i heard the type R 10 in the box that they made and shipped from the factory, and it was so sloppy and inaccurate i couldn't beleive it. don't get me wrong, alpine makes phenomenal amplifiers and cd players, but as for their speakers and subs, i'm not too fond of them.

That factory box is at the absolute minimum space requirement...I think its like .5 or .75....Type R's sound great at 1.25 and above....and of all of Alpine's equipment, I think the amps are by far the worst...

i heard two alpine type E tens....and i IMO they sound 10x cleaner than any of the big brand names ive ever heard- ive heard a pair of type r tens as well...but they didnt sound as clean as the e's...i think because it was a sony amp pushing them...

but no matter whats in your car system wise, it doesnt matter what brand it is, only matters if it does what you want it to do and u like it- then ur fine

i can imagine- my friend adam with the type r's paid 2500bux for his system and install...the type r's hit hard, but they just werent as clean- i would LOVE to hear a pair of r's powered by a better amp.

i can vouch for the type-r too. after building the 1.25 cuft enclosure (recc. by Jmac in case u were wondeirn ) and installin some dampining the thing sounded good and got reasonably loud doing it. i dunno how many people wouldn't believe i only had one 12 when sitting in my car. i had to open the trunk for quite a few of them. by the way thnx for the box recc.
