complete plexiglass box

i aw a plexiglass box that is made completley out of plexiglass,it looks cool but i'm wondering how it would sound,i currently have a all wood box

It probably sounds exactly like an MDF enclosure. The only difference would be the density of the plexiglass which wouldn't matter in such an application. Gately Audio has been making boxes for awhile and I have yet to hear one complaint.

Just about all the plexiglass boxes I've seen have used plexi that is too thin. You see, plexiglass is expensive. The thicker it is, the more money it is going to cost. And I hate to say it, but people are cheap. So they use the thin plexi and end up with with a box that flexes terribly.

So basically, if you want performance out of a plexi box, you are going to have to pay for it. You are going to have to pay ALOT for it. Last I knew a sheet with a repectable thickness ran in the $250-$300 range.

look again then bud. before i lost a lot of hours at work i was going to order a 38x16 sheet of 1" plexi for 160 plus shipping and 3/4" plexi was like 135.

38" x 16" is not a sheet. A full sheet is 4' x 8'.
