To MTX 9500 sub owners

Dont be a shithead and abuse subs like that and you will be be suprised how long a sub will last. Why dont you get 3/4 of them and gve them there rated ( a little over) power?
What would be your top five recommended subs for an amp that runs at 3500 watts at 1ohm. Something that isn't a one note hitter.

firs off there is no way ur gonna give a 9500 2k rms daily they bottom out at about 1800. im givin mine 1600 rms and it takes it like a champ. but mine is in a 3.8 cu ft box tunde to about 34 hz. the 9500 is one of the best mainstream subs out. they like right around 1500 daily. trust me i have talked to a guy who has ran them for years and he went through about 4 sets just tryin to see its actual limits of the sub. i.e. they dont like real deep bass. songs are fine on music but when u play bass songs with like 20hz they tend to stink up a bit. they bottom out at about 1800 watts but would keep goin if it didnt bottom out.

This all depends on the enclosure. Put a 9515 in 2 cubes sealed and try bottoming it out with 1800 watts. If you're talking about your 9500 bottoming out at 20 Hz it's because you're playing it 15 hz below tuning with 1800 watts.

The 9500 series are beasts (I've got one for sale) and they'll handle a LOT of power. They don't sound really good and they sure aren't an efficient use of power, but they do get pretty loud in medium to large sized ported enclosures.

If you build a ported enclosure for them (which I highly recommend) make sure you set your subsonic correctly and you'll be fine regardless of how much power you give them (within reason of course).

I think you are misinterpreting your wattage.

Your amp is consuming 3,615.60 watts from the battery at 262 amps and 13.8 volts DC.

No amp is 100% efficient. Most amps are 70-85% efficient with the best being just over 90%. So lets say 80% efficiency. 80% of 3,615.60 is 2,892.48 watts that your amp is capable of putting out at the ohm load you tested. Some of that is lost to heat to the speaker so we take a root mean square measurement of a .707 loss.

So you multiply Max wattage by .707 to get RMS at

2,044.983 watts. This is what your subs are seeing

I have done extensive tests on the MTX 9500 to compare it to the T3 Audio TSS.

The TSS out performed the MTX, but the MTX 9500 d2 12 performed remarkably well. about 2000 rms daily is the max I would recommend and about 3,500 watts RMS for short 3 seconds burps for competition.

Thermaly these subs handle alot. They are very stiff and not too efficient so with 2) 12s and 2000 rms each I achieved 146.8 dB @ 46 hz on the termlab. The T3 TSS did 148.2 dB @46 hz on the termlab.

I dont think you can blow these subs with your amp's power and they should sound clean and play low.

According to MMats there amps are 98% effecient. Check them out at Mmatsproaudio.com

Learn some shit about car audio before you keep buying new subs and blowing them. And your right. No "SQ" sub will handle 3000 watts. That's not SQ.
I have really only blown one set of subs which I was not concerned about because I got a full refund at Best Buy. The guy working in the car audio section told me the Type R's are nasty subs. I bought them and they failed, I got my money back. The JBL GTi, was defective by the sound. JBL told the dealer that I bought them from that the rubber gasket appeared to be pulled from the basket before I started playing them. Apparently, there was some screw head marks that they noticed. There are some subs that share both SPL and SQ qualities out there. One that I know for sure is Mmats audio. The Dreadnaunt sub is both SPL and SQ. Cadence also makes subs that are both. There are many more that I don't need to list. So get your shit together before posting bullshit on this thread.
