i'd go for the MT's..

i have nothing against Sundown(i'm running their amps) but i'd take it that the MT's would handle and take more than the NS's. plus a bigger amp. can't go wrong with that. then if you feel that you need to change then just sell it all to someone in a package or so.

Back to the topic at hand. If I personally had to choose between the drivers mentioned I would choose the RE's and american bass any day of the week. The AB amp should make about double the power of the sundown one with proper power supply, and the RE's have more motor force then the sundown subs. The only thing I will give you about your sundownz subs is they have a cooling vent which would help for playing music but will cost you DEE BEEZ.

You know, I don't mind if you don't like the product - but trolling every post you can find about it is quite un-necessary. If you are going to bash a product try to get the facts right up front...

Your theory that a pole vent loses "DEE BEEZ" is not necessarily correct. Not every design will gain from a solid pole and not every setup will gain from more motor force. Since you have not tested a Nightshade I have serious doubts that you know what it is and is not capable of. In a drop-in we did with the 18" Nightshades they are every bit as loud as MTs in a 4th order band-pass wall on 3kw each.

The VFL 500 is also not twice as powerful as the SAZ-3000D either - have you seen any results on the 3000D? The VFL is supposed to do about 7kw @ 18 volts, the 3000D will do over 5kw there. The power scales accordingly down to 12 volts - that certainly is not double.
