anybody have any idea as to why i like a flatter response in my room than in the car?
in the car i have a good sized dip between 1.5k - 3.5k, and the overall tweeter level a couple db's down.
this is what the car looks like after tuning by ear and using the rta as a tool. (not trying to achieve a flat response here).
in my room (in 2 channel) i have a pretty much perfectly flat response from 250hz up to about 11k. from 250 and down it rises pretty good, and from about 12 on up it gently rolls off.
this is what my room looks like after trying to get a flat response (other than from 250 on down, and 12k and up) but after listening quite a bit with it like this i actually like it quite a bit.
why do i like it so flat in my room but not in the car?
is it only because of the obvious difference in depth? the speakers in my room are 11.5 feet away. the farthest driver in my car is obviously less than half of that. is that the only reason?
