I have seen some protective panels mounted for artwork that use metal pipes as spacers. Basically you use bolts to mount the panel to the box. Pass the bolts through short pieces of metal pipe placed between the panel and the box. The pipes act as spacers to float the amp rack above the box and hide the threads on the bolts. Countersink both the box and the rack slightly to really lock the spacers in place. You could even polish them to allow them to blend in with the lighting.

Just a thought. Beautiful install, man.

it will be done in a light shade of grey like the rack. it wont be left a solid color

Hope you have an alarm on that back window...somone could just pop that thing out and grab them amps. Today 05:25 PM
not to worry. first i purchased a solid back window today for two reason. one being theft and two becasue the slider window pops out at high volume from flexing so much. it also made a TON of noise flapping around.

as for alram i purchased a viper 791 before i even drew up the system plans. added 3 horns one pizzo window guards all around. i dont worry about theft to much. the truck parks directly out side our bed room window. and at work my parking space is about 20 feet from my office window. there are very few times i'm far from my truck. besides all that INSURANCE!! dont leave home with out it. if they want it they will get it.

well i cut up the side wedge to try and make it better but i decided to post it before shanding painting and finishing it. i do like it alot better then flat but still not to sure. in the finished product there will be a few more lines that go all the way to the front

a few new pics. almost done.

the sound is REALLY nice. i worked alot with the sintallers at kicker with this box design and i must say that IMO alot of the bad rep L7 subs has is due to poor installs. dont get me wrong i'm not saying they are an sq sub i'm just saying that they do sound very very nice and get crazy loud at the same time. the amps push the subs with no problem. althoughi do think they can take more i dont see why. for a daily driver it is more then loud enough.

i will post some finishing pics by weeks end.

thanks again. tonight i have begun working on the side logo of the box. it is another tribal design. i desided i wanted L7 to be part of the design but i wanted to hide the logo in a trible.this will be put into the rear door of the truck on the passenger side. i am rebuilding the door so that this replaces the current stock parts. behind it will be some plexiglass and it will be lite with the same color LED's as the amp rack. above this will be another small window that will also be lit. engraved in the Glass will be a system grid with specs. much like you see on MFG show cars. here is one of the pieces before and after cutting it out. like I said it says L7 but you have to look for it which is what i wanted. thanks again for all the nice comments i did not expect such a responce.
