Sundown 1500D issues

I had tried turning the bass boost up before I sent it in. I was just trying to get anything out of it, but it didn't respond. I guess I'll try another set of RCA's, it'll be the 4th ones.
Not sure what else it could be, really.

I even took the gain to 100% on the bench - played sine waves, music, etc.

I would say to try a long heavy gauge ground directly to the negative terminal of the battery.

If that does not work, I'm not sure this is possible but perhaps you can set the truck

up with another car "jump starting" it. I'm thinking your battery just can't handle

the SAZ-1500, maybe it's going bad.

We will see. I will have an HC800 in the back and a 250 amp HO alt installed by the time I get the amp back. Electrical shouldn't be an issue anymore. The yellow top under the hood still tests as good.

Make sure the HC800 ground gets in the loop to go directly back to the negative

terminal of the main battery too. You do not want multiple ground points iirc.

When you get it back and if it does it, FILM IT and put it on here!

It sounds like your hc800 is dead, mine did the same thing, it was disconnected from the main power wire and the amp would play quietly for a minute then fade out! I can almost guarantee its something with your electrical.

I tested it at the amp while it was playing. Never dipped below 12v...I can't remember the exact numbers.

On the wiring, I have 0 gauge coming from the frame through the cab to the seat stud. The from the seat stud there is 0 gauge going to a block, 0 gauge out of the block to the amp. There is 0 gauge going from the main battery to the frame. All points were ground down to bare, shiny metal.

HC800 is coming today. Hasn't been installed yet.

Turn it on and it plays for a little bit again then stops. Unhook the speaker wires and hook them back up, it plays again then stops.
When it is playing, like I said it seems only about half power or so. What could be causing this problem?
I had a similar issue where the output was normal for a few minutes then it would fade down to about nothing. Let it sit powered off, come back work for a couple mins then fade away. Probably the issue that db-r said he has seen before.

But Jacob had the amp and tested it with NO PROBLEMS

Its an install issue

I agree but I don't know what. I had a friends audiopipe 1500 on the Q and it worked fine. I put my old setup back in (500w amp and L7) and it worked fine. Just not sure what the problem is. I'll see if I can find a dealer to go pick up those RCA's.

One would think that it would do the same thing on the bench at Sundown. And if it isn't, then one would assume installing it in another car would have the same result as bench testing it at Sundown, if this is so, it therefore would lead you to believe it is an install issue, even though everything sounds good as far as the install goes.
