Sub suddenly stopped working

I have a Clarion SW1251 that suddenly stopped working. I noticed when i hooked it up to a working amp it didnt move at all. We tried hooking it up to multiple amps, even the head unit, no dice. From the outside, the VC looks fine. Doesnt make noises when i push down on the cone and goes smooth. Nothing burned. The other clarion in that same box is fine in condition.

I can produce pics of the sub if needed. When connected to anything, it doesnt do anything at all, no humming, vibrations, nothing. Just dead.

Tinsel lead disconnected somewhere.

With it hooked up, push down on the cone, it may move then.

Or hook a d battery up to the pod and neg by wire, let me know how it goes.

I feel confident in saying its the tinsel leads, if the other sub is playing.

sounds like the leads +/- might be rip'd?

I did some tests with a multimeter. Ohms were unreadable (O.L on unit), Volts steadily increased by .1, Amps were 0.00

I think its the terminals. Can i take off the golden clips and attach directly to the wire going to the cone?

Id prefer to fix them, or i would have to buy the same discontinued model i found at only one online store. My budget is too small to afford 2 new 12s or a 15

Possibly broken tinsel. Also plenty of times a coil can be burned and you won't notice until you cut the sub apart.

Did you check the parts of the tinsels you can see? Next step would be to pry off the dustcap and see if anything is separated under there and if you can scrape enough glue away from the coil lead to get another tinsel connected.

What ohm load you running/wanting to run @..for $100 budget,@ 1ohm load,or 4ohm load for a pair..the Lanzar Max Pro bang pretty hard for a budget sub..dvc4ohm..i think you can still get a pair shipped under your budget on ebay..ive had a pair of tens for a temp setup till i got my warranty on different,and was amazed how well they perform for the price..take a look,and recommended for your budget.

used lanzar are on the same level as ma audio, I think there even owned by the same company "anaba group" if anything check craigslist and see if you can scoop a good sub used just look for the weekly crackhead special in area!
