Sub Stage in 98 Civic Coupe

Ok, so I'm trying to decide which sub to run in my coupe. I want something thats going to move, but also fit within my electrical capabilities. I have a 90 amp alt, I'm going to run the big 3, and I can always run an extra battery I have laying around, but thats the foundation of it. I have a pair of ID 6.5's up front that will be fed 125 watts to each side, and so now I need to lay the sub stage. I think I'm pretty set on it being a ported 12 tuned to 33 hz, however nothing is etched in stone. Its going to be a daily set up, and I need to figure out what 12 would fit my layout best, as well as some things I'm currently researching (ie. sub firing direction? port side? I'm not sure how those influence the sound). School me if you could, and let me know what your opinions are on some quality 12's. Much appreciated.

an sa-8 only needs .5-.75ft^3 for ported. so get 1 cube after displacement and you should be golden, find out what the max dims you have to work with are and look up ram_designs on here, he can hook you up with a very nice box design if you send him a little paypal gift, ami creations can also build the box if you dont have time or the ability to. he does awesome work.

Pairs of SA8's on 1kw are seemingly always impressive for the amount of space they take up. If you want to stick with a single 12, the Mach 5 IXL works well in smaller boxes and can handle a good 600-800 watts. 1.5-1.75ft^3 at 30hz is all you need for the 12"er.

I'm really kind of feelin the sa-8's. There's a ton of rave about them, and they're seem impressive, no doubt. Not to mention, with me drivin a civic, I'm sure i can get the box sittin good in the trunk. What do you guys think I should run to push them.

you could always go with one of the many 1500 watt amps that are on the market, from ap to mb quart to the saz and just tone it down, that way you can upgrade subs in the future to something more powerful and have some extra wattage to play with.
