sub squeakin!? wtf!

bad news, on the way home from work it sounded extra funny then all of a sudden I seen and saw smoke so I pulled over popped the trunk and touched it and it was stiff is hell, im now crying...what went wrong?

Prolly was scraping and generated too much heat and blew the engine.

Contact DJL and tell him.

He might replace it. I mean, it doesn't sound like your fault. But, there's always that possibility...

 
hmm. it takes quite a bit of power to overheat the voice coil. is it the aluminum or copper coil? If you were clipping it then the extra power from clipping may have killed it. Also the sub may have been defective u never know.

 
if its squeaking then that means its also acting as a tweeter. make sure you have your amp set to low pass filter. but if not then you got more than you paid for because its a sub and a tweeter all in one!!!!
