Blown Type R's

So all obvious reasons aside, ie. too much power, too little power, improper tuning. What reasons could there be for my Alpine PDX 1.1000 blowing two 12" Type R's?

when ever i blow a type R i fry the coil but i have a friend that blows them and the cable between the speaker wire input and coil breaks. he says its an easy fix. if the subs still moves mechanically ok i would try trouble shooting the wires.

if i blew that many i would seriously reconsider which hobby i am in. maybe you should try something that doesn't take quite as much intelligence.

nah. i put large amounts of power into them. i know what i get myself into.

I havent smelt one get stinky until they were getting about 1200-1500 rms each, they laugh at 500 watts each.
