The lvl 5 is actually their best sub bar none and the new m3 is designed more for daily applications and listening. With the better cooling and larger spiders

I'm planning a single lvl 5 15 in my Focus but am debating whether to go m2 or m3. The money difference isn't small and I'm just not sure. I am inverting so perhaps the difference in the basket is enough to make my decision.

The m2 is more for Spl the m3 is more for music

Issue is. I've yet to see a box or build without rise so I doubt he'll see anywhere close to 3500 rms which is nothing for a lvl 6 period He'd be better served with a lvl 5

Thats if wired to 1 ohm.

If wired to .25-.5 he will get 3500+.

I cant speak on the dc subs since ive never tried them, so in the end if that is true then a larger enclosure will help push them if needed.

Not true. My 15s were wired at .35. And still rose to 2.1 ohms I got 2950 rms. Not 4K

Have to remember not everybodys impedance rise is the same.

Subs and enclosures change that factor.

Should still get him in the 150 range easy with a single 18 if he builds his box efficiently to match his power. When he adds more power, it'll get even louder. Its the same with any big sub exept now he's futureproof with subs.

I was talked into keeping my 2 15's box and selling the xfls. Now, what subs would be the best bet with 3.5 cubes per sub? My options that I am thinking of now are:

Ampere AA 3.0 v2 15's (slightly over budget)

ZV3 15 (would have to get used)

American Bass HD 15

Fi Q 15 (also slightly over budget)

Any other suggestions?

DC 15s appear to work in smaller than normal enclosures. But you'll be over budget.

Way* over budget. Which I don't feel like stomaching over a grand for woofers when i don't know when i could upgrade.

Yes I know. But I just did another build. .33 rising to 1.41 Was closer to rated but still kit there. Off by a bit

Not to derail the thread but if I used a Lvl 5 on a 3500-3800k amp would you suggest buying D1.4 so that .7+ rise isn't as restrictive as 1+ rise?

Hey OP what about these? I don't know how they'd compare to the VFLs though.

My electrical is a 250 alt and 400ah almost of batteries total. I have enough room for 2 15s if I did beefy ones or I could do a single 18. I am open to any brand really, my budget for now is set on around 600. What setup would you do? Looking to do half ohm to see what it is difference wise. Any suggestions? I have a box for 2 15's that is 7 cubic feet after all displacements tuned to 35ish with 2 XFL 15s. Not really any goals in particular, just louder with better subs. I am open to used or new.

I have a new DD 9917C with the Yellow composite cone for sale it was one of the 5 originals used by Mike Jones in his Dodge Caravan to set the loudest SPL vehicle in the world ...back in the early 2000's ...I had it reconed by DD so not a jake leg job...its never seen power but was built to be a pure beast...the composite cone won't fold under power
