Sub replacement help

Hi I have 2 Infinity Kappa 100.1se 10" woofer. One of them has quit working and I am looking for replacements. I read that the new Infinity's aren't as good and clear as the old one's. So I am looking for another product to go with.

I have a Infinity Kappa 202a that has a power output @4ohms: 2 x 200w Power output @2ohms: 300w and Power output Bridged @4ohms is 600w. I would like to assume that the amp is stable @2ohms bridged but it doesn't say it is so I am not going to try that out for kicks. So I would like to get a 2ohm or 8 ohm SVC sub and 2 subs, or a 2ohm DVC single 10" sub. I am looking for a clean sounding woofer. I like the low bumping stuff too but mostly just need a good sound. I will be doing a sealed box application.

I would like to stay with 10" woofer. I have been checking out the new Infinity's, Boston Acoustics, and the Cerwin Vega VMax 10.2. Its a DVC that has a 2 ohm voice coil's so I could wire it in series for a 4ohm load on my amp. Then I would also be reducing to one speaker that should be able to handle everything my amp could throw at it. I had 2 Cerwin Vega Stealth 10" s before also. they sounded pretty good in my truck. I still have one and it still works great. I have also been looking at JL audio line. I wish I had the amp for a W7 but I just don't think I do. If my amp would run stable with no problems @3ohms bridged that would be the way I would go. Thats a big if and I don't want to ruin my amp trying.

I have also been checking the W6 which are nice but not sure about how I would set that up. I could run one in parallel on each channel @2ohms for 300watts to each speaker. but the W3 able to get 2ohm VC or 8 ohm VC might be my best shot.

this will be inside the trunk of my mustang. I would like to keep under a 2cubic ft box for the subs. however I will make the box according to the sub but when I pull my current subs I'll probably make a new box and change some things up.

Here are some links to my current install. I might not stray to far from this and I may do something totally different. Thanks for any help pointing me toward the sub I am looking for. I am not wanting to break the bank either that is one reason I was checking out that Vega VMAx. but I am not sure about getting the sound from this one as I would 2 w3's.

I have been reading some about the JL W3 and haven't read anything bad about them. They look like they might be the way to go. get 2 8ohm 10" subs wire in parallel for a 4ohm load to my amp. Or might be best to get 2ohm and wire series for a 4 ohm load. Anyone had any experience with these?

I forgot to add that my goal is sq. I like my bump but I am not looking to compete or anything. Just a good tight sound that has a little bump to it.

I have been reading more on the JL audio site and on their powerwedge enclosures it shows the W6 with 2, 10" subs with a final impedance of 4 ohms. I checked a little further and found out how to do that wiring it in a series/parallel. they only require a .625 cu. ft. sealed enclosure. It would also leave room in the future if I get a different amp to be able to run them to a 1ohm load.

I really wish my amp would do a 10" W7 justice. Then I could do one sub. I think the sealed box volume is is 1.25 cu. ft. for 1 W7. so overall dimensions would be pretty much the same for 2 W6's ot W3's.

The best way to go about getting help on here is

a) bump ur thread during normal hours. There is a crazy amount of traffic in here so threads tend to get buried quickly.

b) keep it short, most of us read the first couple sentences and got bored.

c)basically say, im looking for 2 10's, want to stick with sq, my budget, how much power i can give them.

you will get some pretty good responses this way.

bump and sorry if this bores you. and I guess being that it bored you, you didn't read enough to see that I might not actually go with 2 10's. I might go with one 10 if it will provide enough sound.

That's why I asked what I did how I did and tried to provide enough info to not get flamed. Instead I get told you all get bored easily. I don't really know how to dumb it down and still find out all I need to know. Oh well.

Thanks
