Sub Remote?

How can I get a remote to control my sub separately than the H/U. I just ordered an Alpine MRD605 amp with the newer Alpine Type R 4 ohm DVC sub, does the amp have a sub control built in? If not where can I get one and how do I install it? Thanks.

Doesn't look like you can have a remote gain/bass control on that amp. You would need something similar to this to get a remote control... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=38638&item=7987887417

Ohhhh Ic. So it hooks right up to the amp and your good eh. Sounds good. Also, this is probably a very stupid question, but I can hook a sub up to a cheap pioneer deh1600 H/U right? I'm sort of a caraudio newb.

you can hook the sub to an amp, and the amp to the hu, but not the sub to the hu. most aftermarket hu's do like 20rms, give or take.

open up the amp, take the gain knob off the board. Put it somwhere in the car and solder wires from the gain knob back to its origional spot on the board... I have no idea if that will work and sounds like a bad idea. Depends on how desperate you are.

haha. I think I'll go with the controller on ebay heh. And I meant the amp to the H/U, not sub. So I guess I should be straight. Thanks.
