Sub not working!?!?!?!

1st post!!! Hey guy I just bought my sony xplod today and i gotta say it looks good. I bought an 8 gauge kit to wire it to my battery. I did everything to wire it but its not playing bass. I put the negative to the negative to that battery. Then the positive to positive. Is it because maybe i should wire positive to negative and negative to positive? It still makes a little noise but its not music.

pos to pos-neg to ground(bare metal on the car chassis)blue and white remote to remote on amp.rcas from HU to amp-amp out put to sub,pos to pos and neg to neg.Hooking up pos to neg terminal may be terminal to your amp,as well as your car.

DO NOT WIRE NEG. TO POS. you could have just grounded the amp on an existing bolt somewhere close to the amp. did you run the remote wire from the deck? what about rca's?

you need to do alot of reading around this forum before buying or installing anything. spend a while searching and reading. do a search on any equipment before you buy it. do not buy any more sony car audio.

this is good but expensive. I want 1000 watts though. lol too bad you cant run a cord from your house to power the sub. cars would run over it and youd be able to leave your driveway

yeah i heard sony was bad but i put it in a good box. my headunits an alpine.

that is a nice amp. really expensive though. you can get the same power for much cheaper. that sony sub is not actually what it says it is. that alpine will be way too much anyway.

The amp puts out 1000watts RMS. Make sure the sub handles 1000wattsRMS not MAX, and same resistance

i think im gonna get those 2 channel amps

THANKS GUYS. I noticed what you said about the remote cable too. found what it is in my alpine book. Cant wait to hook it up tommorow
