Sub not working

Can someone tell me whats wrong with my sub i have 2 mtx subs and one of them isn't working I've checked all the wires and I've even switched them with the other sub but it still won't work anyone know whats wrong with it?

When i move the Sub in and out theres no rubbing or rattling sounds

Did you test the coil with the sub disconnected from the amplifier?

If it's reading 0Ω and it is disconnected, then it's a shorted coil. I don't know which MTX subs you're talking about so it's hard to say whether or not it's worth reconing. Thing is, you'll have to replace all the soft parts (surround, cone, dust cap, spiders & coil) in order to replace the coil so if it's not a high end sub... it's a paper weight.

did you test the sub outside of the box? in my experience when you get a shorted coil you tend to feel something rubbing in the sub. not all the time but more often than not. is it the same reading as when you just touch the probes together.

Zero Ohms is 0Ω is zeroΩ.

Doesn't matter what it looks like... it's a dead short.

And it would be a good idea to remove the sub and ensure that the wiring for the driver hasn't come loose and shorted.

when you turn on your meter, at least on my fluke it says 0L. depending on the person using the instrument some ppl might mistake that for a 0 ohm reading.

Also when I pull on it it seems to have just a little less resistance than when I pull the other one
resistance levels change when you move the cone of the sub. unfortunately is does sound like you have a dead sub. However, does the amp go into protection when you have both subs hooked up? With a sub reading 0homs I would expect that it does.

I don't know when a amp goes into protection but when I have both subs hooked up the good one still works
