Sub making an awful popping/rattling sound.

Hey everyone i don't know a whole lot about car audio but i have a question for who ever can answer, I installed my subs around a month ago and they worked perfect up until a few days ago. The problem is that i bought a box with the subs installed and one of the 2 subs is making a rattling/popping noise but i'm not sure what it would be causing this. (like i said i don't know a whole lot about audio) I've asked some of my buddies and even they aren't sure, i thought it was blown or something but they said its not blown so i just wanna know if there is a way to possibly fix this before i just replace it, they were pretty cheap so i don't care about replacing but if anyone could help it would be pretty huge. I'm running them on a 500watt mono alpine amp. The subs are 2 12 inch jensen subwoofers.

Could be tinsel slap? What kind of subs? Is the spider seperated from the cone? Is the surround still glued all the way around?

could ba many things, typically, that sounds like a half-broken tinsel making intermittent contact, but could also be a loose joint somewhere. does the cone move smoothly when you physically push on it?
