Sub half as loud in cold weather?

im just pulling this out of my ass, but if you think about it, it makes sense. in cold weather, the soundwaves have a harder time traveling through the air because it is so cold and dense, but when the air is hot and hardly dense at all. i bet if there was a way to super cool voice coils and amps, you'd get ridiculous numbers given the equipment...

I did the volt test again using Kanye West 808's and heartbreak went from 14.04 to 13.88 volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif still dimming though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

bass still low in power

is your amp a class a/b?

my sub amp is a/b and is 600w and bridged. so when the bass note is punchy it causes my lights to dim a little. when it hits long notes it doesnt. just an a/b characteristic.

Well when i have LONG rolling bass the dim is very subtle, on the tight hits it is dramatic like you said.

I almost dont even want to drive down against traffic when i am playing songs like that because i think my lights look all messed up and blinking..

says for specs:

Class: A/B

:| well can you guys recommend a quality amp under ~150.00 that will do 500-600 watts rms clean at 4 ohm or even higher?
at 4 ohms will be hard to get a good class d and get 500-600w.

if that is all you have i would go with adding a battery or selling the amp you have and put that with the 150 or trade with someone and add cash.

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too
