Hey guys. I was just wanting some input on what sub I should throw in my new truck. I have a 2012 F150 Raptor and I was looking at this box

Ford F-150 Supercrew Cab 09-12 Single Subwoofer Box

The mounting depth is only 5 1/4" for a 10" and 5" for a 12"

I haven't 100% figured out if I want to go with a 10 or a 12 yet. I really like the 10 or 12 shallow mount Type R. But that is right at my 300$ limit.

Anyone have any suggestions on a sub that fits a 300$ budget that meets the mounting depth limit.

I do like the JL w3 for around 240 shipped. It has a 5.9" mounting depth. But I could glue a .5" baffle on it and make it work. That' is the MAX I can go.

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
