Hello, new to the forum. Today i attempted to wire a new head sony Sony MEX-N5000BT a hifonics 1500d amp and a pioneer 12" subwoofer. I got everything wired up turned the key and i was super excited it worked. But i decided to go for a drive and as soon as i started my truck my sub went dead. My amp is running my head unit has power and speakers play just no sub. Please does anyone know what a problem could be? Like i said it works and bumps hard on the on position with the key but when the truck is running no sub???

The power light is on the sub is lit up and the protection light is off. The remote turn on is wired to the head unit. I have also played with the subwoofer level control on the head unit

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
