Sub descision???

I would like to replace my current subs for some that have better Spl.My problem is I cant find one that is designed for smaller enclosures.I would prefer to have two subs but would consider running just one.I have always run dual subs so I dont know the capabilities of a single sub setup.I mentioned in another post that I liked the Elemental K series but the size of box I would need for 2 of them is really more than I want to use.How would a single K sound in the appriate size box?.....ANY suggestions are welcome.

You can put a E12k into a .5 cf enclosure and still get stnking great results. Think of it this way, putting a e12k into a .5cf box yields the same Q as putting a shiva in a 1.2cf box, and how many people love their shiva in that sized box and it's 'sq'? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

.5-1.2 cubes is a very good size for the e12k, could fit a pair in extremely small spaces, if I was running a single one I'd shoot for as close to 1cf as possible.

sorry I meant to put this in the post too,but I was leaning more toward ported boxes to get a little more output from the sub.I've seen Ele. sealed box reccomendations for the K series and yes they are very small, the ported box (2^ft/sub) is way more space than I want to use.Hell I prob. just stick with the sealed box it's smaller and there are no tuning headaches with it.......thanks for advice though

I did some measuring in my truck and I can fit a ported box in there that will yield 2^ft per sub.Now my question is which sub for more SPL ?Re SE 12 or El. K 12?.......any other sub suggestions are welcome.I'm using a mono amp that is only stable to 2 ohms with an output of 500 RMS with a 12v input so I gotta keep that in mind too.
