Sub cutting out

My 12" rockford he2 is cuttin out when i get the volume up to 30 on my headunit. My amp light stays on, but the woofer cuts out. Is it the amp or the woofer?

Sounds like maybe it's kicking into protection....clipping, low voltage, overheating, etc etc.

All your wires and grounds good and tight? Where is your gain and bass boost set? How is your sub wired and what are it's coil's impedence(s)? What amp are we talking about?

Turn the gain DOWN. What amp is it.

I agree with squeek, check wires, turn gain down, turn bass boost off, if it continues I suggest taking it to someone you trust to give you a second look.
