Ok a little while back I had a post about a system I put in to my friends jeep.
It's a memphis pwr ref. 10 dual 4. With a memphis 250d amp. A kenwood h/u.
Now before, no matter what the gains were set at the sub would cut out when the h/u went above 23 with the vehicle on. With the vehicle off it is one number lower. No matter what music, test tone or gain setting, at 24 sub cut out. Amp, sub, ground, power everything good. Amp not going into protect. I have no clue. Well He finally got around to let me trouble shoot the prob.
I put the sub in my truck and it worked great, I tried parts of the big three, nothing.
Well Having disconnected his battery, the h/u was reset. On his way to where he bought his amp to have it tested or swap it out, he calls me and said that when setting his h/u back up he faded his "rear" speakers out they are located over head on a "sound bar"?? but he said when he did that only the front dash speakers were on along with the sub and there was no problem with the sub, he could turn it up as loud as he wanted and the sub sounded great. But if he faded the rears back in the sub would cut out. The over head and dash speakers run off the h/u no amp. I wonder if this sound bar has an internal amp that could be causing this problem or
what do you guys think? Sorry such a long post...
