Sub blown?

One of my L7 kicker subs stopped working today. I started driving home and while driving, I heard one of them make a loud sound. I got home and checked my subs and found out one of them stopped working. I switch the two subs around and the same one still didn't work.

So is it blown? Subs are L7 Kickers 4ohm dual core powered by an Orion 1200D amp. Subs are 600rms each and amp is 1200rms at 1 ohm.

It has been fine for the past few months, just stopped working today.

if you push down on the woofer that isnt working, does the cone move up and down? any screeching or feel like its getting caught up?

coils getting caught up. i believe it happens a good amount on these subs.

not sure if the coil is completly gone, if it jumped the gap or waht. most likely needs a recone though.

itll probably be cheaper to just buy a completley new sub.

so there's no way of fixing the coil? i may have to out and buy a new one then. if it happens a lot on these subs then i may have to buy different brand subs.

iirc this has happened to a few people. i think its over excursion and then the coil just jumps the gap. not sure though, because ive never owned one of these before.

im not a fan of kicker, so obviously im gunna tell you to pick up something else.

if there's no way to fix it, then i'll probably just have to go and buy a different set of subs along with box

well i just checked it and looks like the coils are broken, it's detached from cone.

so this sub is worthless now?

Thanks lol this sucks, just beginning to get into car audio and this happens. I'm going to check if my local car audio fixes this, or if anybody here fixes it for a good price.

That'll be your best bet, I know Hifisoundconnection.com sales refurb one for like 180 something, might be lower. Dont go local though, they'll butt F8ck you in a minute tho
