Sound System Serious Help.

lol, this thread is very frustrating to read...
OP, these guys are full of great advice. Quit asking for a 'quick fix' when there isn't really one. It's going to take some labor and effort on your part, or $$$ in better equipment.

Good luck with your system..
Which I realize. I am aware they are full of great advice. I just didn't have the intentions of redoing my entire sound system so bear with me if I'm not exactly ready to jump into it.....

Try to understand my point of view here. I sure understand everyone elses and realize that I very well need a new enclosure.

I will take some measurements of my truck and see exactly how much I can fit in there.
Ultimately I'd want my setup like this: 2 Kicker L5's 12in Chevy SIngle Cab 06 Rockford Fosgate p1000.1bd - YouTube

Looks nice and doesn't sound bad.
uhh I hope not...those L7's are worse than CVX's!

one decent sub, like a 12" FI BTL and a couple of Audiopipe 1500's would get you loud as shit and wouldn't cost toooo much. Oh and as far as batteries go, go to your local battery dealer and ask if they have Group 31 blem's (blemished).....usually they're dirt cheap ($70-$90) each. I recently replaced all my batteries in my jeep with them (all 7 of them) ended up costing me WAY less then if I would of bought Kinetik, Power XS...etc.

Fair enough man, everyone has to get going from some point.

I would definitely look into the idea of running a single D2 12" or 10" in a proper ported box, will probably be the cheapest too.

Does nobody realize I have a single cab truck? A BTL?

Yeah I just don't know if I'll be able to return the CVX subs that I have. Wish it was as easy as buying the Thunderform for the first time. Sounded great and all I had to do was plug some cords in. lol.....

I know you have a single cab. I've put literally hundreds of setups in them. Maybe not a BTL... American Bass XFL is cheap as shit and gets loud for what it is. We threw some 15's in our walled test vehicle and they were doing 160+ on 3000 watts...lulz was had!

This car audio place is almost too extreme for me =P I don't need no wall. I'm looking for loud bass that doesn't affect my comfort in my truck. Amp is hidden perfectly under the seat and I surely don't want a wall or a blowthrough!

haha yea man unfortunately that's not usually how it goes, especially when trying to get louder without buying new equipment, and buying a prefab box just won't get you what you want. but as has been suggested already there are several box designers/builders on here that would be more than happy to hook you up, could even get it to look danm nice with some work.

I guess another question I have would be is it better to have 2 500RMS subs or 1 1000RMS? I'm down for a single 12 @ 1000RMS, but will it sound worse than 2 10s?

no. Less surface area in general, but more air to move since the enclosure is larger.

And I still suggest the XFL's...They're around $185 a sub.... the link below is even free shipping

.same story, different thread..in the last thread he ran asking the same questions, it got to the point I suggested he seal off the passenger 10" hole on the prefab and run a DCXL10 on the drivers side. Aeroport the passenger end of the box where it fires into that corner...but he did not believe that he could build a box behind the seat that would get wayy louder than anything he has done so far with just 1 10" DC sub. The XL is shallow enough to run

Just not willing to give up that seksy prefab it seems.

I'd like to do all I can to keep the subwoofers that I have, but the idea of sealing up the enclosure on one side and putting a beefy 10 in the other sounds promising as well. Would I need to port it? That is a very interesting idea.
