If someone were to come on here 3 years ago saying "power accoustic is bad ***" or "I'm planning on buying power accoustic something or other" they'd have got **** on til they left in shame..

How the **** does putting a stupid plastic spider logo and "SOUNDSTREAM" on the same product make it good?

Don't get me wrong, they make a couple decent products (but so did power accoustic at one point or another), but IMO across the board more of it is just junk.

i havent really seen an endorsement across the board for soundstream on here... just certain products, i.e. the rubi's, which are good budget amps... same as PA back in the day, you know

I think it's because exo's youtube vids of him running the SS high end gear. The youtube heros have a lot of influence over people these days. That's why there are tons of flex vids. it's why people don't laugh johnathan price right out of town. It's good for car audio as a whole to get people in to it, and I happen to like exo, but people like jp with no knowledge, pays someone to do his build and then just rolls the volume knob and flexes things, running 6 alts, 4 18's, tons of sundown amps and can only pop a 153 usaci style is just sad.... and it's him and guys like him that teach people things that aren't true and have a bad influence on car audio as a whole. I can do more with 2 15's and way less power at the same frequency than jp. That's your answer.

JP is not as bad as you make him out with that statement though. He knows more then most and is a great guy. I wish more people would pay to get things installed when it is to a level that they can not handle. At least JP is up front about it and does not hide that fact.

Subzero runs SS, tis loud and clean. I'd run there high end stuff all day. Their new HU's read FLAC as well.

If that is true of his actions, he has never been that way toward me. So from what your saying I can not prove/disprove that what so ever as people do act differently in various situations.

Understood. I know at first I thought he was cool. A few months in on facebook and I started to get a pretty good bead on him. That and much more....

I'd consider my PA amp to be one of the better series of amp's they've made. Overrated? Yes, But not grossly overrated and actually puts out good power.

That is true. From what I've seen it's something like this:

You have the spl group who doesn't care about what something costs. The performance is what matters and that is all. They will save and get the best to gain a tenth.

You have the value oriented ground pounders. They want to flex things and not spend a ton.

Then you have forums and youtube where people regurgitate what they have heard is good and what isn't without having any knowledge themselves. From all of that, it's very difficult to weed through and find the truth.

Then when a comparison of products is made, the manufacturers get super butthurt and circle the wagons and try to tell you why you can't compare products.

For instance over on caco the xs power vs juicebox batts thread. RIDICULOUS.

Also with subwoofers. There is a formula to calculate a woofer's efficiency from T/S parameters but it is at 1000hz. It COULD NOT be that hard for someone that understood it all (not me) to make the calculation accurate at ~50hz. Say what you want but it would at least be a USABLE rating when selecting a woofer.

For amps I don't have as big of a problem. Even though the supply voltages vary and the impedences vary, you can still get a good idea of whether or not you have to wire the amp to a dead short or not to get rated. You can see how well it performs on low voltage etc. TO me those are helpful and telling. If only woofers and other products were more commonly put to the test that way without manufacturer backlash.

I agree for the price better can be had than Soundstream... Actually I think SS is pretty **** cheap a Rubicon 2500.1D can be had for like $280 right now shipped new on curtain websites do to the christmas sale, I'd rather have one over a AP3k which costs more but point is a Rubicon require 14.4v just to do rated and even then most of them don't do rated. They're power hungry dirty little bastards, I almost bought one awhile back but mylows10 talked me outta it
