I recently purchased a 2002 Toyota Highlander mid sized SUV with stock audio. So far I've replaced the front-door (Hertz ESK 165L) , and rear-door speakers (Infinity Kappa 3-way), and I'm decently happy with the new stuff I got, but now I'm shopping for head unit, amps, and woofer (s).
I am familiar with audio technology, but I've been "out of the game" for ~12 years.
I'm after decent loudness, but more importantly accurate sound. I'm willing to consider new or used components. I'm a new member here. I'm not allowed yet to post all the links for each item yet. (all these are Crutchfield)
I'm considering these new items: Your advice is requested and appreciated.
Head unit: Alpine CDE-123 $170
Front Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA-704 4-channel car amplifier — 70 watts RMS x 4, $173
Rear Amp: Alpine MRP-M500 Mono subwoofer amplifier — 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms $200
Woofer: I'm planning to put a single 10" woofer in a tuned box in the back. I'm after natural souding, tight bass, without losing more space than I must.
JL Audio 10W1v2-4, W1v2 Series 10" 4-ohm subwoofer $140
Box: Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker Sealed single 10" subwoofer enclosure (Model BB10-75S) $60
Are all of these decent "bang for the buck" items?
Should I look at something else?
