My role in this build is only a supporting one enclosure designing, knowing the quality and attention that will sweated into this before it is finalized I asked permission to be a fly on the wall and share.
This was done for an extremely talented fabricator, installer, gearhead etc... that happens to be a friend.
Someone who constantly hits it right outta the ballpark.
Sometimes I overbuild designing, when using premium materials I can revert to my instincts getting max performance from minimum materials. I should have stayed in school my engineer brother says.
I like it simple and effective.
In my locale blowthru's seem to be very popular, I've designed literally hundreds. The guy I designed this for happens to be a big reason for that. He has left installing for a shop as a job, started a new career and this is for his personal truck. I'd say no holds barred but we all have a monetary limit after all, so call it 10K invested... so far... haha. Most everything has arrived so it'll come together quick now.
13ply Baltic Birch throughout, single ply... it'll be A-OK. Premium materials allowed more airspace and a less complicated build. Lexan rear panel and some allthread to brace the sides.
I've been asked so many times "how loud will it be?". This one is going in a single cab /w/ steel plate on the rear cab wall, heavily deadened with tons of electrical on some "JP" amps. "How loud?"
"We'll see"...
