So my dad bought me a car for the big 18

nothing was said about his parents going into debt. For all you know, they paid cash for it. Also, from the sounds of it, this is probably an award for him doing well in life, working hard.
stop posting.
i'm just here for the poast count //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I guess I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions about the kid being spoiled, I just think its wrong for a family to go more into debt, and not teach their kid anything about hard work. Granted, if my kid kicks *** in high school, gets free college, and has actually done some work in his life, then yea, something nice may be waiting for him in the end. If I have the money for it. No need to sacrifice my own wealth if I don't have the means to.
So yea, sorry OP for apparently "hating" on you. Prove to me that you're responsible and you can do something with you life.

Why the **** would the op have to prove anything to you?

Seriously get the tampoon out of your sandy vag.

As for the op! congrats!

I had to buy my first car it was a 1976 Datsun pickup paid 100 bucks for it. The best gift I got was my father teaching me out to maintain and do my own mechanic repair work on my own cars and for that I am grateful.

After owning the truck for a year my parents went 50/50 on a newer car after showing I was responsible. Lol after that it all went downhill but that is another story!

**** congrats the man and call it a day. Hopefully he deserved it and work hard to appericate it. I mean a majority of people on here are losers anyway. The topics range from Politics to who is f*cking who is spoiled. Its a car audio site! Half of yall havent even voted. 75% of the people here are under 19, so who are they to say he is spoiled. Get a life instead of trying to be in his. Like I said before congrads, and keep your mind focus on life and college, which Im hoping your attending. This thread is full of characters like this guy...

You're right, I do live at home. I have also had to help pay the mortgage (good spelling by the way). I've had to help buy food. I also said that I never appreciated being able to live under my parents roof. I understand that they cannot continue to afford me, they have helped me out a ton. They payed for all those years of little league, vacations, etc. Also, I can't wait for the real life, because you know why? I KNOW I'll be more prepared for it than most kids my age. I won't have car payments, or credit card payments because I won't be in debt. The only thing I'll ever owe on is a house...oh wait, no I won't. I'm military, free housing FTW!!! You people crack me up how you think that it's ok to spoil your kids. This is a one of the reasons that our economy is suffering, because we've lost all work ethic. Kids get out of high school and don't know what to do, so they just stay at their parents house until they're 22-25. Guess what? I've got my room and board paid for, because I busted my *** in high school for it. Along with work ethic comes success, that's why I laugh at this.
Typical shit from someone whose parents did nothing for them. Buying a car for your kid isn't spoiling someone. There is nothing wrong with getting your kid a car. My parents bought me a $5000 02 dodge neon so I could drive myself to school (college, not high school, I didn't have a car in high school). Sure some kids are definitely spoiled, but JUST getting a car from your parents doesn't mean that you're spoiled. Get ****ing over it.

congrats on being spoiled. I bought my truck when I was 14, and I still drive it. Know what my parents got me as a graduation gift, for finishing in the top 25 in my class? Luggage. ****ing, luggage. How about you go out, earn some money, and purchase a vehicle yourself, pay the taxes, and insurance on it, then tell us how you feel.

... I have yet to see one post from you that has any amount of intelligence in it.

the kids excited he got his first car, so what if his pops paid for it, who knows it could be a $200 ford escort.. and you pop off like this? even if the kid is spoiled he's not bragging about it, he's not throwing it in anyone's face that his pops bought him a car. wtf is your deal?

I went to school with kids who got hummers, vettes, lexus etc, etc. I don't care, I sure as hell wouldn't turn down a BMW if my parents were buying. Is he supposed to turn it down, and say he would rather save his piddly paycheck for the next 6 months, and buy a piece of shit ? They are giving him an opportunity to get ahead....

Take it.

Doesn't bother me. The one kid had an H1 hummer he drove to school, I don't know if it was his, but either way it was cool.

I don't get hummers, I watch other people enjoy them.

I don't think I'd accept a hummer from my mom. Just sayin'.

My mom bought me my first car a 1999 merc sable and I paid for everything else (INS. Gas tires oil changes inspection and registration.) then when my brother got his license I gave it to him I was 19 I think and decided I wanted a different vehicle so I bought a 2000 explorer for 5g and paid for it my self. There is nothing wrong with your parents buying you a car especially if you keep out of trouble and grades are up and stuff. I know I am gonna buy my son a car when I feel he's ready and has proven himself to be reaponsible. My mom bought it for me because she saw how hard to help support the fam my dad passed away in 01 and I had to step up and take over some bills. I was working two full time jobs. My dad was going to buy me a car and had money saved up for that. There is nothing wrong with your parent(s) wanting to do something like that and doesn't automatically make you spoiled. Now if he has credit cards that get paid for and the car is a new bmw or mercedes or something then yeah he is

Everyone needs to chill out. Having your first car bought does not, "Set you up for failure." Myself and 95% of the people I know had their first cars given to them. Everything from beatup 1990's Tercels to brand new Benz E500's. Out of that group I know some **** hard workers that have attended top colleges while holding down jobs. Generous parents won't make you a failure in life, if you don't have the motivation in yourself then that's the problem.
