So my dad bought me a car for the big 18

Congrats for being a spoiled, u have officially started on ur way to failure. It's really gonna **** for u when bills hit u later on in life. I bet they're planning on paying for college for you too??

I bought an 88 5.0 for $350... Guy thought the engine was blown, all needed was a new head gasket. Me, friend, and his dad did it the summer before my 16th and sure enough had it running like new.
yea i baught a 91 parkavenue for 350 dude said the transmission was shot. it just didnt have any fuild in it lol but i dont think this dudes life is ruiened over one car he had to wait till he was 18 to get one, im sure he'll have to pay for insurance and gas, and food for *****es

I, for one, am not jealous. I don't care what he has or doesn't have. The way I took it, he came here boasting about handouts from his family. Am I supposed to applaud the fact he was born into a family that gave him a car? I am not certain exactly what I am I supposed to be happy for OP about.
Could be happy that his parents have the ability to provide for their child and gave him something nice for his birthday...or we could just rag on him because of it

congrats on being spoiled. I bought my truck when I was 14, and I still drive it. Know what my parents got me as a graduation gift, for finishing in the top 25 in my class? Luggage. ****ing, luggage. How about you go out, earn some money, and purchase a vehicle yourself, pay the taxes, and insurance on it, then tell us how you feel.

Your just mad cuz your parents don't love you.

I am so happy for you for doing nothing except surviving until the age of 18.

/sarcasm

Then shouldn't we be happy for the parents? Still don't see the reason I should be happy for the kid.

Actually yes, I think its every parent's wish that they can provide for their children, even sometimes splurge a little.

And looking back, I sometimes wonder how I survived past 18

Well, then his parents need to register so we can give them a pat on the back.

No, it's not every parent's wish...some parents (including mine) feel that struggle is a necessary phase. I doubt I provide my kids (if I have them) with cars and other extragavances. There is no need in such and only creates a materialistic perspective...

My parents bought me a 1973 vw bug with no motor for my first car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I worked for money to build a motor and get it running, sure it taught me a lesson. But this kid is 18, most lessons his parents are going to teach him in responsibility, morals, and ethics should have been laid down some time ago, which would mean if his parents bought him a car at 18 hopefully he already understands responsibility and the car purchase won't impact that negatively.

I honestly didn't read past the first post, do we know what the car is...could be a 1k beater. Even if its a 20k ride who cares...lucky kid.
