Should I sealed two type R ?

Hey gang,

I'm looking for SQ this time around and I was wondering if Type R's would sound good sealed ?

I just bought a 99 Honda Civic coupe if it matters.

What do you guys think ?

Type- r's are not known for their SQ. Type x-s if you want alpine would have a much better chance of sounding good

Type X for sq, but dont worrie, type r sound good, but they are more spl than sq. You would rather have them ported so they will pound, and they will.

Try them sealed to see if you like it. If not, then investigate alternatives.

I have 6 type r 12s adn have tried pairs sealed and ported. In the right sealed box I think they sound pretty nice for sq, yeah there not the best but they sound great to my ears.

I would go typpe x or go with a different company like TC Sounds has great sounding subs, I heard the Fi Q sounds awesome, ID Max's, sound splinter, OZ, and there's plenty more. Knowing you, you'll want some loudness to your sq...lol

i would say no. i took my R's out of a sealed box and put them into a ported one and im much happier with the way it sounds.

x2, believe me, the type r's sound good and hit hard even when ported. Just tune it down a bit say 32-33 Hz and that should sound awesome.

my R's are sealed.. sound okay but dont really hit that hard.. i plan to go ported soon

one of my type r's sounds really bad. i think the cone is separating or something.....know how to fix that?

well I have a single 12" 2.7cuft @ 29hz box if you wanna try a type R in it.
