I would add the system. In drag racing, every 100lbs is .1 of a second. You're only going to be adding around 60lbs if its a single sub/box/amp setup, so thats 0.06 of a second off the quarter mile.

true, however that equation changes a bit as you get faster in the 1/4.

anyway, yes, I'd do it...if you want, there was a lcal guy here in twon that did a full custom Kicker install on both his Z06's...looked amazing, adn didn't add a ton of weight. I might be able to get some pics.

 
Aren't stock ford GT's rated for 500 hp?
And don't they cost 3x that of a c6 Z06?
they are actually rated @ 550hp, and thats at the wheels, and also underrated.

I have seen one first hand bone stock hit 570rwhp.

Although very fast, the z06 will not destroy a GT...............just not gonna happen.

Maybe @ the dragstrip, because the GT is a beast, w/ most if its torque hits @ 2000rpm and up. Its a handful and a half trying to pedal @ the strip. Even so, it ripped off an 11.20@138 on street tires.....spinning thru 3rd gear.

Anyway, I say do the system.......you will not notice the added weight, but you gotta just secure it VERY WELL, because of course, it sounds like you race it around alot.

Final thought...............the Ford GT may cost a ton of $$$$$, but its capable of astonishing things on a track......any kind of track.......no stock, showroom car will hang w/ it....period. Now, add a better suspension, and a bit more power, and you might come close w/ your z06.

1st, there is around 1000lb difference there......also, the driver of the stang clearly drove like crap because his shifts were s..l..o..w as hell.

Props to that z06 there, but doesnt matter. What gears did both cars have???

All make a big difference.......changing a car from 3:08 gears to 3:73 gears rill right there cut 3 tenths of a 1/4 time.

Must have been a "happy" dyno or your car weighed 4 tons. It doens't take that much rwhp to run 9's.
Put in the system as even 100#'s will only cost you 1mph and possibly a .10 in the 1/4. ET is more based upon launch/hook then anything. Do you actually street race, or just play aroun on the freeway from a roll? Either way you'll need to get back 10hp to equal out a 100# system. very true......I've had 510rwhp, running 10.30's, and 662rwhp, running 9.50's.......I ve had 842rwhp on ET streets, running consistent 9 teens, w/ a best of 8.90......

so your car had to be a tank w/ that much power.

I believe your car put out those numbers, but all I'm saying is that a race like that is completely useless in finding what car is faster. If they were at a strip, and the Z06 won, then I'd give respect, but roll runs dont mean a thing

dude, post up.......I am very good friends w/ and race w/ Evan Smith from Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, and was there when he pilot'ed the GT they tested. I've been drag racing my whole life, and am very knowledgeable about drag racing stangs, and most Fords. Hell, I even own a 1300+rwhp stang, so dont try that "talking out my ***" stuff. All I'm saying is races from a roll dont mean anything.

Your car is very nice, and 500rwhp is very amazing for the street, but you were the one who started the" viper and ford GT killer shit, not me.

Maybe you just werent expecting being called out about it.

 
highest I have ever seen a bone stock GT trap is 126mph. highest I have ever seen a bone stock Z06 trap was 126mph(not my car highest I could muster stock was 123.6(i made 454rwhp stock)

the gearing in the GT does not make for a good drag racer, the car is a beast around the track but the z06 will be right there with it.

im not saying my car is the best car ever made im not that guy. my buddy makes 797rwhp and runs a 10.7@144mph in his GT

i know what most cars are capable of and a 138mph trap out of a stock GT is a BS number

lol called out I backed it up with a video. thats whats funny I have a example beating a GT from 4 differant MPH's

if we had slicks and were on a track with his TQ it would of been closer, but me pulling ahead shows what car is a "faster" car

c/mon, you have to be kidding......the only ones who get those kinda traps from those cars are the idiots who cant drive, from the road & track, etc mags. Those guys dont launch correctly or even speed shift.. The numbers they put up are ALWAYS around 3-5 tenths off what Evan Smith, or someone well versed @ the strip is capable of.....period.

I'm not "that guy" either, just have alot of experience w/fords/stangs @ the strip and on the dyno. I dont care either way how fast your car is. It is a beautiful car, respectfully fast for the street, and you are happy w/ it....period.

Also......again.....your buddy w/ the GT......if he has 800rwhp and only runs 10.7's, then he cannot drive @ the strip. Thats just what example I am trying to make.

That much power even w/ the GT's road course suspension, will run DEEP 9's. You cant say adding 250rwhp will only make that car a 1/2 second faster. A better driver w/ less power will usually outrun a shitty driver w/ tons of power.

I'm done. All I wanna say is get that system for your car. You dont need a huge system.....even a single 10 will make a huge impact in that small space. Will not make any noticable difference in ride @ all. Hell, if anything, you want a little added weight on top of that axle for weight transfer.

Good luck, and hopefully you get that system in there, and post up ThAT video........all here would like to see that.
