should I add the weight to my z06?

well, i was at work

i was "ehating" because the first post in this thread sounds awful presumptuous

z06 isn't slow, but it can't hang with the local street racing scene up here onthe frozen tundra- i have to assume that down there in florida where people can actually drive their cars all year it's even worse off.

i don't care if it beats a 620 whp cobra- my point was that there are literally thousands of modified cobras and f bodies too while we're at it, that can make it look foolish--- so why worry about the viper?

 
I say put in the system.. I mean the enjoyment of a system while in the car all the time is much better than being a hair faster when going full throttle.

On a side note, please stay in FL as I don't want some dude in a vette street racing, have a blow out, and end up killing me or someone I know. Keep it on the track man. 1/4 mile time slips carry much higher bragging rights than a dyno. You can have 1000 horses to the ground and still cant drive worth a ****.. granny can beat you off the line if you stall.

im in total agreement street racing is horrible, but un fourtunatly cars like mine rarly have a chance to race ferrari f430, vipers, and ford GT's at the track they never go out for the same reason that kid above me is saying they hate there car getting beat by a F-body.

now the new z06 is the best of both worlds. i have had a 850rwhp f-body before that ran in the 9's, and I have had a 911 Turbo S. the new z06 is the right combo of exotic car feeling, with the price tag that you dont feel bad modding it.

this is far from my first fast car. and am finishing up a pro-charged 99 T/A as we speak that i would love to be running high 8's

Oh ya, go for the system. you just won't notice the weight. This from a modded C5 Z06 owner who drives the crap outta my car every day (RWHP 487) and runs around Mid Ohio in 1:49.8

Oh ya, I love to go looking for Cobras... rice is even better

You have your answer. If the extra weight for daily driving is not an issue and you get more enjoyment out of the system as opposed to that weight then get the system.

Making the sub and amp rack easily removable would be also be good. You have the money to do this right, so why not?

Must have been a "happy" dyno or your car weighed 4 tons. It doens't take that much rwhp to run 9's.

Put in the system as even 100#'s will only cost you 1mph and possibly a .10 in the 1/4. ET is more based upon launch/hook then anything. Do you actually street race, or just play aroun on the freeway from a roll? Either way you'll need to get back 10hp to equal out a 100# system. it was a M6 not a A4. my traps were very high 150's but you know how it is drag racing a M6

your tight the system is not that important to me in the z06 ill keep it stockm stereo wise

and what the hell does it matter how much someone spends on a car that they cant ask for opinions
