Should a Voice Coil Look like This

My 15 inch TC Sounds LMS-R showed up at my door a few minutes ago. While unboxing I took a few snapshots. Everything was fine until I saw the voice coil. Have a look.

This doesn't look right at all. Nothing is symmetrical and I doubt it would fit into the gap seamlessly. It actually looks like a 5 year old assembled the coil.

Am I way off here or is this just as bad as it looks?

That is LMS technology... have to admit the 5-year old comment made me laugh.

The weird looking windings are what make the BL flat.

I thought the LMS coils were designed differently, to increase linearity as the coil is moving in the gap. That does look sloppy though.

It's super difficult to wind an LMS coil -- inevitably they aren't super pretty coils... but don't worry, they are supposed to look like that.

yup thats how mine looked,

cant see it cuz its sideways but you can kinda see the black/ dark brown

Doesnt matter what it looks like. Its designed like this for a reason, and you wouldnt see it anyway.

Allows the BL to remain semi-constant at higher excursion levels.

Looks a lot darker than most of the LMS coils I have seen though I will say that. And by the way congrats on the LMS buy.

Looks dark no doubt, but they are supposed to look like a 2 year old wrapped them, forgot exactly why.
