It's super difficult to wind an LMS coil -- inevitably they aren't super pretty coils... but don't worry, they are supposed to look like that.

I would think you would know what an lms coil is/looks like before you purchased and installed one...

I wouldn't. But thanks to this thread and a few technical articles on SSA I'm much better informed.

Should be a killer setup...the low-end is so clean on LMS and XBL^2 woofers.

looks a little burnt to me.... you can c on the inside windings the copper color is more defined.

The LMS-R is in and I love what I'm hearing so far. I won't make any real conclusions about the sub until it's in the box I designed. It definitely handles the low notes with ease and get's very loud in the 40-50hz range.

I can't wait to build the proper enclosure. The 3 cubic foot box the sub is housed in now just isn't big enough for my taste. The new box also drops the tuning 2hz.
