Setting Gain on Speaker Amp. Pics!

Email from DAT:

"The front 2 channels, you will use the outer most terminal and the rear channels, you will do the same. Make sure that RCA inputs 1 & 2 only get a left audio signal and channels 3 & 4 only get a right audio signal. This will provide you with the proper stereo separation. Thanks!!"

Calling out DBfan....I run a new model Pioneer with 62 volume settings. I have the DEH-6800MP. Would the statement that 61/62 is clean be the same for all Pioneer decks with the DEH-XX00MP designations? I currently don't like pushing my deck past 45 (untuned system due to some 'issues') and I wanted to know if it is definitely safe for me to tune the same way.

hey kicker06, i have the same amp and im doing amp gains right now for my mb quart components. i guess im gonna do it by ear like you but say if you set the amp gains properly at 75% volume with ALL processing OFF, what if you turn up the bass/treble via the deck. won't that cause clipping then?

Also, how do you set the crossover frequencies?

For the crossover frequencies, you can either use the amp or HU. The amp is more precise (depending on your HU), but I would use the amp. You need to move the switch over to "low" then use the dial (knob) to set your desired frequency (70-100hz is good, the lower the number, the more midbass. 80hz seems to be a nice number).

As for the processing, no it wont clip, it just leaves you room when your gains are set to adjust, but keep in mind, you don't want to turn them all the way up or down, because it may cause clipping or distortion.

i set my volume higher just to make sure that my preamp voltage is where it should be.
When I have my HU paused and it's around 50 on the volume knob, I get humming from the speakers, but when I turn the HU off, there is no humming.
What is this?
sounds like a bad ground maybe?

when i swtich over to low, i dont hear any highs as all i hear is bass coming from my midrange woofers. I think "low" is for subwoofers correct? im tuning come components speakers. i have it on "full" right now at 240hz. i didn't really notice any difference when i turned the frequency hz knob.

sh** I already mounted the amp back on and put the back seats back. I cant adjust anything anymore because the way the amp is mounted is very low and i cant access it. Anyways, will 240hz cause any damage to anything? it sounded ok so i just left it there. ???
