setting gain on kicker zx1500

yea because now since it started smoking it wont even go over 40volts it starts shutting off and on when playing
i dont understand what made it smoke in the begging i had everything wired up and fused correctly and set the gains with a dmm and test the ohms to make sure i had the right ohm load

no fuses blew or anything normal happend just the amp started smoking and now it wont go past 40 volts just starts decreasing on the dmm

this really pizzes me off now i have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get instal finished man i am bout to not buy kicker anymore

my l7 was wired wrong had coil 1 + coil 1- coil 1+ coil 2 -

and yea it was completely made wrong wouldnt even get a 2ohm load would come up with some waky ohm load

i understand the frustration trust me, but don't blame the company, they make amazing amps. If you choose not to go with another zx1500.1 there are other options out there, but don't think by running from kicker you'll be trouble free. I have never, nor any of my friends had problems with kicker amps but we have had problems with a lot of other big names out there. I know guys who had problems with sundown amps, orion amps, fosgate amps, hifonics amps and so on. You may have just gotten a bad amp. Either way do what makes you happy in the long run.

Kicker im my opinion is one of the best companines out there they work to improve there products every year. Might have got a bad amp!, I know some people like to bash on a certain company but some people might never had problems with them either, hell I never owned a Hi-fonics amp but I know 5 people that have had problems with them. One friend he amp went up in smoke and he never even had the system on while driving!! . I have heard many good things about the 1500.1s I am going to go with 4 of them in my car soon as I sell my memphis amps!

i got a question i have a jbl a 6000 i gotta set my gain to 167.3, now thats 8000 watts , i dont wanna have 8 k going threw my sub while i adjust, can i unplugg the sub??
